Omen brings over 25 years of experience with Silicon Valley startups to Planet Street. Omen began his career at Nortel Networks where he managed the marketing & strategy of future products that included SeeYou SeeMe, a video conferencing product line using ISDN lines in the Fiber World vertical. Omen then moved to NeXT Computing, there he discovered a small up and coming software house called Genesys Labs. After joining Genesys as employee number nine, he was part of the team that managed the growth of the company to over 2,000 employees in less than a year. In 1997 Omen joined a small team responsible for writing the S-1 for the NASDAQ market and taking the company public through Goldman, Sacks & Co., Lehman Brothers & Robertson, Stevens & Company. After the Genesys Initial Public Offering (IPO), Omen facilitated the eventual $1.65 billion dollar sale of Genesys to Alcatel. Today Genesys is one of the most valuable private software companies in the world today valued at $3.8 billion. Omen has continued the entrepreneurial track, co-founding & funding numerous startup ventures that included Emediate Networks (Next Generation Intelligent Network Based Services), Variphy ( Unified IP Based Communications Management Services), & SKEEOcreative (a digital marketing THINK tank). Other roles included the Executive Vice President of Aspect Communications in charge of Strategy & Marketing, Director of EMEA for Alcatel, and a Board Member position at COG1.
With over 24 years of executive experience in the cable television industry, Rob has a deep background in brand launches. Most recently, he co-founded and launched MAVTV, a national cable television network targeting young men. He helped build this network into over 40 million US cable homes, was responsible for all content and advertising on the channel, and then was part of the successful sale of the network to Lucas Oil. Prior to that, Rob had a noteworthy, nine-year tenure at Showtime Networks where he helped launch brands like the Sundance Channel, FLIX and The Movie Channel. His executive work in television spans across the areas of operations, distribution sales, advertising sales and programming. He began his career in New York City, where he was a founding member of the national spot cable ad sales firm, American Cable Advertising. He's a graduate of the McCombs School of Business at the University of Texas at Austin.
